What we do

Security

In this areas, CSRA attempts to examine the contemporary security challenges to peace, security and stability of citizens, the state and the region from traditional and non-traditional standpoint.

The main goal of the program is to offer concrete proposals and solutions to security issues by considering all aspects related to them. The subject of research in this program will be considered through the method of security analysis – assessment and forecasting of current and future socio-political and security events. The program highlights new security challenges such as terrorism, the fight against radicalism and extremism, environmental security, cyber security, and security management.

The organization has so far focused on research and action-oriented projects focused on role of the civil society in the security agencies reform, peer violence, terrorism and counter-terrorism, role of security agencies in elections etc.

Data privacy and cyber security

The intertwining of privacy and security in the digital world are topics that are always current.

The digital public sphere creates a completely new information and media system that democratizes communication processes, but at the same time produces new challenges. These include, for example, anti-misinformation campaigns and the rise of populist views, especially on digital platforms and social networks.

There is a lack of systematic action to strengthen the resilience of internet users, legislators, and media professionals in the face of disinformation and online hate speech. A holistic policy agenda is also lacking.

CSIA aims to develop tools for informing and educating citizens about the exercise of their rights in this area, as well as advocacy tools aimed at developing the awareness of legal entities for implementing the standards and legal provisions for the protection of personal data and privacy. At the same time, the program will also offer tools for developing capacities for the challenges of using the Internet.

Also, cyber security policy has become an integral part of national and international politics. Amongst other elements, cyber security policy includes establishing institutions, the allocation and distribution of resources, processes and legal frameworks.

Digitalization and sustainable futures

“We refer to digitalization as the way in which many domains of social life are restructured around digital communication and media infrastructures.”

The synergy between the green and the digital economy can offer a common solution with long-term effects, and the two transformations can jointly respond to the challenge of climate change and ensure sustainable development. The organization explores what conditions should be met for the country and the region to benefit from these inevitable processes. CSRA develops concrete ideas as to how politics can shape technological change in society, the economy and the state, addressing the issues of digital infrastructure, the changing pattern of employment, now affect key areas of economic and social policy, transformation of the society to green.
